A fierce war for tickets took place among a whopping 600,000 fans, selling out all of the 100,000 seats for both days of the concert and proving the popularity of the agency brand among Japanese fans.
The singers sang out a string of their favorite hits as well as tracks rarely performed before, and mixed and matched members to become CSJH’s Dana & Sunday, Super Junior-M, Super Junior’s Donghae & Eunhyuk, SNSD’s Taetiseo or never-before-seen combinations for a total of 52 performances.
Super Junior’s Ryeowook and Eunhyuk and EXO-M’s Chen got together for the first time to sing the ballad Everything, while SNSD’s Taetiseo and EXO’s D.O, Chan Yeol, Lu Han and Se Hun collaborated in a performance of DJ Got Us Fallin’ in Love.
TVXQ’s Max Changmin and Super Junior’s Kyuhyun belted out with their attractive voices in Just the Way You are. The concert shone from beginning to end with such collaborations that could only be found at the SMTown Live concerts.
The audience didn’t hide its excitement either, as every audience member held up light sticks in each team’s color as well as placards with their stars’ names on them while singing along to the songs. They even managed to perfectly follow the Korean fan chants for some.
The trail of fire will continue with the Seoul concert of SMTown Live World Tour III, to take place on August 18.
