Shinhwa’s Kim Dong Wan will be returning to the small screen after five years.
According to Kim Dong Wans’ agency, Live Works Company, on August 27, Kim Dong Wan has been cast as the main lead in KBS’ upcoming new drama, Cheer Up, Mr. Kim.
Kim Dong Wan will be playing Kim Tae Pyung, a hard-working and optimistic apartment janitor and housekeeper, who also raises four children that aren’t his.

Kim Dong Wan will be playing Kim Tae Pyung, a hard-working and optimistic apartment janitor and housekeeper, who also raises four children that aren’t his.

“I was a bit nervous to start up a daily drama, but I trust chief producer, Mun Bo Hyun, whom I’ve known since Good Bye Sadness, producer Hong Seok Ku, and writer Jo Jung Joo, who also wrote The Princess’ Man.” said the singer-turned-actor. “Because all the characters in Cheer Up, Mr. Kim aren’t ones that are usually covered in daily dramas, I’m pretty excited and will work hard to research to my role better. Since I will be working with a great production team, I will do my best, so please show a lot of interest and anticipation.”
Cheer Up, Mr. Kim will premiere in November after the conclusion of I”ll Give You the Stars and the Moon. This will be Kim Dong Wan’s first drama since Good Bye, Sadness back in 2005.
