SBS′ Go Show will be cancelled, and a follow-up program to replace it in its time slot is already in the works.
Go Show aired its first episode on April 6, and will be coming to a close less than a year since it started up. The variety team at SBS has been staying quiet on exactly when Go Show will conclude, but word is that it will be cancelled sometime around the new fall arrangements.
One official who demanded anonymity told enews on October 18, "Go Show has confirmed it will be cancelled. A program to replace it is also already in the works. An official announcement will be made soon."
Go Show is Go Hyun Jung′s first talk show, and featured the popular TV personalities Jung Hyung Don, Yoon Jong Shin and Kim Young Chul as panels.
Its vague concept and Go Hyun Jung′s inexperience, however, weakened the show and failed to draw in many viewers. Though it started off with moderate ratings of 10.5 percent (AGB Nielsen Media Research), it has continuously went downhill from then. Its ratings slid to 8.7 percent (April 20), 8.4 percent (April 27), 8.1 percent (May 4) and 8.1 percent (May 11), and in the week after that on May 18 took a huge dip to 6.7 percent. The most recent broadcasts also continued on this trend, with its October 5 broadcast hitting 5.6 percent and the October 12 broadcast settling at 5.1 percent.
Go Show proved that top stars like Go Hyun Jung alone aren′t enough to draw the interest of viewers. After stumbling through such obstacles as its low ratings and the sudden replacement of producer Seo Hye Jin, Go Show has finally met a weak end.
