MU:CON - a global music conference and showcase - took place in Seoul in November and we were there to see all the action!
The conference brought in a hugely diverse line-up, with popular K-POP groups, international artists, Korean hip-hop and indie artist all joining together in a rare event.
The indoor showcases proved to be an ideal way to discover many artists we haven’t heard about before, as well as see the bigger K-Pop groups performing several songs and pieces we haven′t seen on stage too often.
The showcases were primarily for media and other entertainment partners, so they could discover new music and hear lectures, and wasn′t geared towards fans - still many fan clubs inevitably came to support and watch their idols.

She has been called the “female Taeyang” and she was really entertaining on stage, as she talked a lot with the audience members.
Beautiful girl, amazing vocals and great urban R&B music! We were surprised she is not more famous. We want to see more of her in the music scene!

But last winter, he finally released his own debut album, and is performing solo with his self-produced songs, which mix in a heavy dose of electronica.

He combined perfect fashion with groovy hip hop, electronic sound, humor and, on top of all of that, he was super charming. We love seeing non-shy artists enjoying their time on stage. We’re diggin’ this!

The singer is also an actress in her home country - triple threat!

He put on one of the most entertaining dance performance we′ve ever seen - slightly jealous that we can′t move like that!

She sings and dances like a super star. We hope to see more of this girl very soon!

They performed both new songs like Look at Me and old goodies like One More Time.

The showcase hall was filled with international fans and we could see how VIXX members enjoyed the cheering.

Ravi also performed a beautiful song together with Ken.

The group hasn′t been promoting for some time, so we were happy to sing along to ′dance to the right, to the right! You make me feel alive alive, wonderful tonight night night!′ again.

The highlight of their performance was It′s Only Hard for Me and the forever confusing song Girls, Dreams, Money.

They took the opportunity to ask where fans were coming from and found out there were fans from countries as far off as America and France.
This is a little fun story from the first day we went to MU:CON.
For the first day of the event we were excited to see Block B, Baek Ah Yeon, Tasty, AOA, etc. But we were just a little too late, and couldn′t get inside, as the conference was first come-first serve.
We decided to eat instead, and just hang out near the event hall - but once we began eating, we noticed some ′idol-like′ boys next to us.
They were being interviewed by Korean media and we couldn′t really see their faces. A friend snapped a quick picture, uploaded it on Twitter asking about their identities, and the replies quickly came flooding in - the group was Indonesian idol group, S4!
We had just read an article on enewsWorld about S4, who was collaborating with 4minute′s Hyuna.
So of course, we had to ask for a proper picture and they were incredibly friendly!
They told us about their career and even showed us their music video for She is My Girl.
The more we found out about them, the more impressed we were by their stories!

There′s always new groups, bands and artists to discover - it′s one of the best things about living in Korea; always being able to fall into new music and artist.
It’s impossible to get bored and tired of music here since the music industry is so big and grows so quickly!
