After as a public service worker for his two-year mandatory military requirements, Kang Dong revealed that he’s now a skilled dishwasher.

With this being one of his first photo shoots coming back from his army service, Kang Dong Won was joined by Director Lee Myung Sae, who worked with the actor in the movie, Duelist. Director Lee personally organized and led the photo shoot to try and capture all of Kang Dong Won’s charms for the fans who missed out on him for two years.

“I wanted to work as quickly as I could, but I didn’t want to start it off with commercials” said Kang Dong Won. “That’s why I decided to show myself through a photo shoot and ask Director Lee and photographer, Lee Jeon Ho.”

During his interview with the magazine, Kang Dong Won talked about not being in the entertainment world for two years.

“I felt like I escaped the ongoing competition for awhile. The entertainment world is a lot like the sports world is completely competitive,” explained the actor. “As I thought about living without competition for two years, I felt comforted yet slightly nervous. Being a public service worker, I realized that my work is also my duty. So I began to yearn for work. I started thinking, ‘I want to hurry and finish and return to acting.’”

Two years is a long time that brings opportunities to learn new things and excel. When asked what changed the most about Kang Dong Won during that time, he replied, “My dishwashing skills. One of my jobs during the army service was to wash beakers. I washed them endlessly.”

But now that he’s out of the military and free to return to acting, Kang Dong Won revealed that he’s already planned schedules out for the next two years.

“I’ve secured two projects, and the other one is in discussion. Another one, I’ll do after fixing up my schedule,” said Kang Dong Won. “I want to work hard in everything that comes my way. Time is so precious.”
