Following an extensive investigation into the abuse of the sleep-inducing drug propofol, prosecution summoned actress Jang Mi In Ae for questioning on January 23. She is under suspicion of violating drug control laws.
According to a report published by Joongang Daily on January 24, prosecution also plans to summon actress Lee Seung Yeon on the same charges within the week.
A squad in the Seoul Central District Prosecutors′ Office revealed that it had secured evidence and testimony that three or four actresses, including Jang Mi In Ae and Lee Seung Yeon, have been using propofol illegally.

Prosecution centered on confirming when Jang Mi In Ae started to use the drug and whether she used it without receiving any outstanding surgical procedures. Investigators had searched through seven hospitals, including plastic surgeons′, in Gangnam from December 9-10, confiscating lists of those who received doses of the drug as well as the hospitals′ medicine records.
While questioning doctors and nurses, it found out that Jang Mi In Ae and Lee Seung Yeon had allegedly continued to visit the hospitals and received propofol injections without receiving any other treatment.
Prosecution plans to soon expand the investigation to other celebrities, including a TV personality.
Jang Mi In Ae recently appeared in the MBC drama I Miss You. Lee Seung Yeon appeared in the SBS drama The Great Seer.
