Lee didn′t hold back on his witty comments, drawing out big laughs from the audience with his neat hosting skills and adlibs. He especially boasted great teamwork with MC Shin Dong Yeop and guests Lee Jin Wook, Kim Ji Suk, Boom and Yang Se Hyung, who served with him in the army.
As a present to his viewers on his first day, he performed his cute ′Nayo′ antics, which appear in SBS drama Scent of a Woman, even though he seemed to be thoroughly embarrassed.
When his friend Kim Ji Suk complained that he was asking questions not on the script, he shouted out, "There is no script in variety!" and threw his script away.
As such, Lee seemed to be cut out for variety. No one could feel the empty space the show′s former MC, Lee Seung Gi, left behind. Lee also performed his ′Sailboat′ mime, which he came up with for his entrance exam to the Korea National University of Arts, drawing laughs from the audience.
He came forth to protect his guests from sensitive questions with neat closing comments and even showed off his ability to smoothly indicate when the video should be cut. He managed to surprise not only the guests but the producers as well as a perfect variety MC.
