Lee Bum Soo will be joining MBC’s upcoming fantasy medical drama Time Slip Dr. Jin (working title).
An official of Dr. Jin revealed the reason why the producers decided to cast Lee Bum Soo, saying, “Lee Bum Soo, the ‘actor you can trust’, is trusted by the public for his excellent acting skills, which help him build characters that can’t be taken up by anyone else other than Lee Bum Soo himself.”

The producers also explained that they couldn’t think of anyone but Lee Bum Soo to lead a strong fantasy medical drama with interesting settings among young actors.
“The Lee Ha Eung character, which has many different charms, will also be a role just for Lee Bum Soo,” the official added.
Lee Ha Eung will be a well-rounded figure born in Joseon, who leads the tense story with the genius doctor Jin Hyuk (Song Seung Hun), who traveled 150 years to the past. Lee Bum Soo’s appearance is also drawing much interest as it will be his first traditional drama role.
Dr. Jin is a drama adaptation of a 10-year-running Japanese manga of the same title by Motoka Murakami, and is about how the most talented surgeon in modern day Korea, Jin Hyuk, suddenly finds himself in the Joseon Period of the 1860s and works as a doctor there. It will air its first episode on May 26 after Feast of the Gods.
