Socialtainer Lee Hyori will be releasing a photo essay book featuring the singer and her beloved pet dog, Soonshim.

Titled, Closer – Hyori and Soonshim’s Beginning Story, the photo essay will contain pictures of the singer with Soonshim and her other pets in their daily lives, and the photos will include writings by Lee Hyori.

The essay will also reveal the behind story on how Lee Hyori grew up to become an activist for animals and how she also came to become a vegetarian.

The pictures will contains pictures shot by famed photographer Kim Tae Eun, as well as pictures Lee Hyori took her self. All the profits from the essay book sales will be donated to the animal welfare center, KARA (not to be confused with the idol girl group).

The photo essay will go on sale on May 24.
