“Before Super Junior, to be honest, a few years before, I almost debuted first with another group,” revealed Sungmin. “With Junsu, Hyuk Jae (Eunhyuk) and I, the three of us were going to [debut], but Junsu went to TVXQ. The two of us were dropped.”
Sungmin, who was a senior in high school then, said of the rejection, “I was chasing my dreams, but it was taken away in a moment. That frustration was huge for me at that young age.”
He went on to admit, “After that, I stopped practicing altogether for a year. I even thought, ‘Should I quit?’”
However, Sungmin said he realized upon entering college that he was meant to return to singing and decided to pursue his dreams again.

We’re glad he was able to realize his dreams, but who else can’t help but wonder what could have been had he debuted with Eunhyuk and Junsu - and if it would have been as dreamy as the photo above.
