While this is the first time in ages that Lee Seung Gi hasn’t been regularly appearing on television, no one can deny this multi-talented entertainer a break. Since debuting eight years ago, Lee Seung Gi has been on roll, headlining dramas, variety shows, music programs – you name it, Lee Seung Gi’s done it.

But while he was originally just a singer, he’s definitely made a bigger name for himself as a drama star, making his inclusion in the 20’s Choice Drama award category easy to understand.

After making everyone fall in love with him through My Girlfriend is a Gumiho, Lee Seung Gi went on to make the nation bow down to him as The King 2Hearts.

As his character grew up from a prince to a king, Lee Seung Gi also seemed ready for greater heights, choosing not to join the cast of 1 Night, 2 Days Season 2 and leaving his MC post on Strong Heart, indicating, perhaps, that Korea’s most famous multi-tainer was going to focus on honing his acting talent.

While he’s stated he wants an award for The King 2Hearts, with the stiff competition in the 20’s Drama category, sheer desire may not be enough – but his performance as a boy turned King may just do it.
