If Girls’ Generation (SNSD) was always a tight-knit clique, the girls were all about doing their own thing in 2012, repping SNSD nonetheless.

Although SNSD remained largely absent from the K-Pop scene last year, the debut of the girl group’s first subunit, TaeTiSeo, distracted us from this sad fact with sparkle and shine in song Twinkle.

Members Taeyeon, Tiffany and Seohyun flashed onto the stage Moulin Rouge-style, captivating K-Pop fans with their big hair and over-the-top performances.

Meanwhile, members Jessica, Yuri, Yoona and Sooyoung all glittered the small screen in their respective dramas. All the while, SNSD’s dancing queen Hyoyeon tangoed across the TV as a celebrity competitor on Dancing with the Stars 2.

The year wasn’t without a few bizarre happenings related to the girls. For example, reports of Yoona’s alleged ”affair” with Psy (so random). But we’ll never forget about the pitch seen around the world – brought to (or hurled at, shall we say) you by Jessica.
