A media outlet reported that Lee Jung Jae would be getting married to the first daughter of the Honorary President of Daesang Group, then followed it up with a correction soon after.

The piece that really set up Lee’s charisma was the 1995 drama Sandglass. He acted in the role of Jae Hee, who quietly stood by Go Hyun Jung’s side to protect her, and showcased his strong charisma.

In 1999 and 2000, he starred in two pieces in a row with Shim Eun Ha: The Revolt of Lee Jae Soo and Shim’s last piece before her retirement, Interview. Lee continued to star in various other films such as Typhoon, The Last Witness, Over the Rainbow and The Housemaid.
Lee worked hard, and he was given a variety of awards as a reward. In 1995 he won a string of Rookie Awards at the Daejong Film Festival, Korean Critics Choice Awards and Paeksang Arts Awards. In 1999, he won the Best Actor Award at the Korean Critics Choice Awards and the Blue Dragon Film Awards.
