There aren′t too many celebrities who could confidently shout out to the world, "I am the best," but the four girls of 2NE1 are doing it - and everyone′s following along.

The YG raised group exploded onto the scene back in 2009 and were an immediate success. The four girls, while all attractive in their own right, were a far cry from the other sugary-sweet and/or ultra-sexy girl groups that were flooding the K-Pop scene.
It helped that their songs were good rather than generically catchy, and after a stream of successes off their first album, the girls took a much-deserved break to rest and work on new material.

The brief time away from actively promoting worked.
2NE1 returned to the oversaturated music scene and still managed to take over and
all five of their songs released this past year (Ugly,Don’t Cry, Lonely, Hate You, I Am The Best) have swept the music charts, each one boasting a different color and style. Though 2NE1 is still young - only a little over two years old - it definitely has enough street cred to be bragging about its success. Enews met up with the four ladies and asked when they felt like they were the best.

Bom, lead vocal, said, "I just like to sing. I′m the most confident when I′m singing," while Dara, known for her unique rapport with her public, said, "I think I′m the best when our fans are cheering for us during those three minutes."
Minzy, the resident dancer, naturally admitted, "I have to think that I′m the best when I′m doing a dance solo, or else I can′t really get into it."
And the charismatic leader, CL?
"We put a spell on ourselves and think that we’re the best before we go up on stage. If we don’t believe it ourselves , then our audience won’t be able to believe it either. That’s why we have to think we’re the greatest when singing and dancing on stage."

With their powerful vocals and charismatic moves, the girls of 2NE1 make it look easy to exude confidence, but even they have to keep reminding themselves to rock on stage.

Fortunately, performing songs that are completely different from the current trends helps the girls maintain their confidence.

“From the beginning, I thought our music was very different from other girl groups. I still think the same. We don’t really have a specific musical path we’re going down," said CL." "We want to do all kinds of things and be singers fit for any of genre. We have many more things we want to try.”

“The thing that separates us from the rest is that we don’t limit ourselves to one thing," added CL. “We enjoy creating our own path, and the same goes for our album. Our greatest goal is to have fun doing the music we like.”
